Linux Terminal Server Project Cluster Edition (LTSP)

Revolution Linux just released the official web site of Linux Terminal Server Project-Cluster Edition or LTSP-Cluster.

Announcement Blog

ltsp-cluster.org

Developed on top of LTSP for years (2003-2010) for several school districts in Quebec, Revolution Linux has now ported all this development into the LTSP platform and assumes the leadership of this project..LTSP-Cluster is 100% Open Source in accordance with Revolution Linux ethics and values (License GPL)

LTSP-Cluster is officially distributed by every major distributions (Debian, Fedora/RedHat, Suse, Ubuntu, etc.) and has been deployed for years in heterogeneous environments.

LTSP-Cluster can scale up to several thousands thin clients providing an enterprise-class infrastructure (load balancing, central management, monitoring, high-availability, ...) as well as large-scale remote access (Citrix like) for thousands of users using NX at a fraction of the cost of a proprietary equivalent.

LTSP-Cluster support Windows terminal services and Linux terminal services. They can be integrated seamlessely see YouTube video) in order to provide easy migration from Windows to Linux.

LTSP-Cluster allow organizations Worlwide to become greener : modern thin client power consumption is 15W and they can be centrally shut-down and power up. Energy saving can vary between a tenth and a quarter compared to a regular desktop.

Thanks for your interest in LTSP-Cluster and long live Open Source.

Thanks to
