Maxspeed Corp. has released a new "Value Line" series of thin client terminals

Maxspeed Corp. has released a new "Value Line" series of thin client terminals that are claimed to offer more than twice the processing power of other products in their class. The MaxTerm 501 features a 667 MHz processor running Windows CE, and provide enhanced user management tools, flexibility, and security, Maxspeed says.

The device includes IE 6.0 for Web browsing, multi-media functionality that includes Windows Media Player, support for multiple external peripherals, and a terminal emulation suite, according to Maxspeed.

Additionally, the 501 is said to give administrators complete control of desktop security, including password protection and multiple-level user settings. As a result, end users are prevented from installing unwanted applications or downloading unknown files locally to the device, Maxspeed says.

Key features and specifications of the MaxTerm 501 include:

Other members in Maxspeed's new "Value Line" family include the 101 and 301, which run embedded Linux. Additionally, Maxspeed offers Maxspeed Management System, which it describes as a "robust enterprise-class" management system capable of supporting tens of thousands of devices across a distributed corporate network.
