Leading Analyst Firm Chooses ThinDesk as 2010 Cool Vendor

Gartner selects Thindesk as "Cool Vendor". That actually makes more sense to us than some of the other usual categories the research companies award. Maybe we can get the Cool Website award from Garnter :-)

Markham, ON – ThinDesk, a leading provider of fully managed desktops and hosted infrastructure running on a VMware platform inside a TELUS SAS70 data center, today announced that it was selected as a Gartner 2010 Cool Vendor. The designation recognizes technology vendors who provide enabling, innovative and impactful technologies that will drive substantial revenue growth.

“To be chosen as one of the very few Cool Vendors by Gartner is a major honour.” said Rob Myhill, CEO of ThinDesk. “I believe it validates the exceptional business model we have developed with TELUS. SMB’s can now have the same security as major Canadian banks and at the same time reduce their IT costs 30-40% and carbon-foot-print up to 80%. What business owner wouldn’t want to get more for less and reduce C02 emissions?”

“Cloud computing is at the fore front of today's information technology discussion. Virtualization and managed services in the data center and on the desktop are integral aspects of how ThinDesk provides this latest technology advancement.” Stated the Gartner Report. “ThinDesk's cloud end-to-end infrastructure solution reduces IT spending while increasing security and reliability.” the report continued.

“I am extremely proud of this latest recognition it clearly endorses our solution for the business with 10 to 500 staff.” said Myhill. Gartner stated “Clearly SMB s in North America should look at this solution as a way to solve the problem of high IT costs including capital investments while adding to their IT solution things like Disaster Recovery and Continuity Planning that is often overlooked or avoided as too costly.”
