Wyse Announces Strategic Collaboration with Cisco in Desktop Virtualization

SAN JOSE, CA. – November 16, 2010 – Wyse Technology, the global leader in cloud client computing, today announced Day One enhanced capabilities and support for Cisco's end-to-end Virtualization Experience Infrastructure (VXI) system. Together with solutions from Citrix and VMware, Wyse's cloud, virtualization and management software suites and its broad set of thin and zero clients complement Cisco VXI to provide customers the most comprehensive choice for achieving a superior desktop virtualization infrastructure.

There is a tectonic shift happening in the IT industry around Cloud Computing which is impacting every user, organization, and industry. As virtualization technologies drive more adoption of cloud computing, organizations worldwide are demanding integrated solutions delivering lower TCO, increased security, reliability and scalability, while delivering optimized user experience for any work environment. Wyse Cloud Client Computing software suite works with Cisco VXI which brings together all of the key infrastructure components for end-to-end desktop virtualization, including virtual data centers, borderless networks and collaborative workspaces. Cisco VXI system is capable of delivering any type of content to any user on any form of end user device, including Wyse Cloud Client Computing solutions that support ultra-green thin and zero client desktops, laptops or handheld devices and tablets, like Cisco Cius.

"By combining our expertise in data center, networking, and collaboration with the latest thin and zero client hardware and software technologies, Cisco can now offer a differentiated end-to-end virtualization solution for businesses," said Barry O'Sullivan, senior vice president, Voice Technology Group, at Cisco. "Cisco and Wyse together can present our customers and partners with unparalleled solutions for this dynamic market."

Cisco tested Wyse Day One key device platforms for optimization for use with the Cisco VXI system, including interoperability with Citrix and VMware. Details of this testing appear in the recently released VXI Cisco Validated Design document entitled Cisco Virtualization Experience Infrastructure, assuring customers that the companies' products are compatible and interoperate to the highest standards.
The following Wyse's Cloud Client Computing solutions have been validated for interoperability with Cisco VXI:
· Wyse’s industry-leading broad family of thin and zero desktop and laptop clients

· Wyse PocketCloud™ software for any mobile device, expected to include Cisco Cius support

· Wyse Zero Engine™ firmware technology

· Wyse Device Manager software for integrated management of thin and zero clients across the extended enterprise

"Wyse is pleased to announce this strategic collaboration in support of Cisco's VXI initiative," according to Tarkan Maner, president and CEO, at Wyse Technology. "As the business desktop continues to transition to the 'post-PC' world, cloud computing initiatives will succeed based on the successful integration of data center, networking and collaboration solutions with the right client-centric technologies, including unified communications, thin and zero client computing hardware and software, and desktop virtualization solutions. Today's announcement between Cisco and Wyse offers end users the perfect mix of solutions for real results."

"We feel our customers should be able to work from anywhere, anytime with any device and receive the same rich user experience they would in an office setting," said Bob Olwig, vice president of business strategy for World Wide Technology. "The partnership between Cisco and Wyse extends the value of desktop virtualization farther from the datacenter to include unified communications and collaboration technology. We believe the combination will prove very popular."
