Teradici CTO To Provide Fresh Look at the PC-over-IP Protocol at BriForum 2011!

Developer of the innovative PCoIP protocol will explain major protocol updates, reveal new capabilities and share benchmark data

PC-over-IP remote display technology: true zero client desktop virtualization - 2011-07-14

Burnaby, British Columbia – July 14, 2011 — Teradici, the developer of the innovative PC-over-IP® (PCoIP®) protocol that enables a true PC experience for desktop virtualization, announced today that its Chief Technology Officer Randy Groves will present at the upcoming BriForum 2011 conference, taking place July 19 - 21 at McCormick Place in Chicago. Groves will provide “A Fresh Look at the PCoIP Protocol” on Thursday from 10:45 a.m. - 12 p.m. in Breakout Room #4.
Attendees will hear about the major updates to the PCoIP protocol as well as other capabilities that Teradici will deliver later this year. Groves will provide a technical overview of the PCoIP protocol and explain the new features, including significant reductions in WAN bandwidth consumption, network optimization, and management enhancements, in addition to the new APEX 2800 PCoIP server offload card for VDI servers. Additionally, Groves will also share the latest bandwidth and CPU utilization benchmark data that demonstrates the benefits of these new capabilities.
“Enterprises across virtually all markets and industries are deploying VDI with the PCoIP protocol," said Randy Groves, CTO, Teradici Corporation. "This session will provide attendees that want the latest knowledge with details about the newest developments and how they will affect their existing or planned virtualization solutions and deployments."
About PCoIP Technology
Teradici’s PCoIP protocol is an innovative remote display technology that allows the user’s desktop operating system, applications, and data to reside in the datacenter, eliminating the need for traditional desktop workstations, PCs and thin clients, and delivers an uncompromised user experience to each person, anywhere, over any network and to any type of device without incurring the security risks associated with having data reside in remote PCs, laptops, or tablets. PCoIP technology provides high resolution, full frame rate 3D graphics and high-definition media, with full USB peripheral interoperability, locally over a LAN or remotely over a high-latency WAN. It compresses, encrypts and encodes the entire computing experience at the datacenter and transmits it 'pixels only' across a standard IP network to secure, stateless PCoIP zero clients, thin clients, and mobile devices.
The protocol is implemented in several software configurations, including VMware View™, the industry leading desktop virtualization platform as well as in silicon for hardware accelerated performance and enhanced security. A growing ecosystem of over 30 third-party vendors provide a wide variety of PCoIP products including server plug-in cards, rack and tower workstations, blade PCs, zero clients, integrated monitors, and IP phones with PCoIP capability.
