The move to include European dates builds on the huge success of US based Tape Summit, traditionally run alongside NAB. The Tape Summit is a private event for the tape industry. Like the US events, the Tape Summits are co-located with leading industry events in Europe, IP EXPO and 'Powering the Cloud' events (incorporating SNW Europe, Datacenter Technologies and Virtualization World). They are exclusive, private, industry events aimed at the analyst, blogger and media community. Their aim is provide a platform to discuss and learn about tape-related storage trends from the market leaders who drive the future of software and hardware solutions designed for modern data storage demands.
The overall tape industry has undergone a lot of changes through the past decade. These summits provide for in-depth presentations from leading analysts and vendors on the trends for tape usage in backup, archive, disaster recovery and data security.
Tape Summit 2012 will put vendors and selected media delegates together for a complete analysis of the current state of this $2.3+ billion annual market. Details will be provided on new software application functionality as well as the continually evolving hardware functionality that is positioning tape to enjoy a healthy future and growth in many markets.
